Personal
Name(optional): Matty Burke.
Age: 18!
In-game name: Lexishikari
Class and spec: Restoration Shaman
Armory link: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Anachronos&n=Lexishikari - some gem choices are a bit poor due to not giving a fuck. Norly, I am planning on fixing up gem choices and other bits and pieces in the next few days.

What frame rate do you generally play at in 25 man raids? Is your PC and internet connection reliable? What's your average latency to the game servers during evenings?:
Fps varies from 30-60, which I find suitable for most any content and I’m planning on a few upgrades in the coming weeks so it’ll only improve. My latency is very low; usually ranges from 50 to 100. I rarely disconnect, and if I do it’s usually a client/server problem and not on my ISP’s side.

Why are you applying to Bloodpack? Well, since coming back to my Shaman and Anachronos as a whole I’ve played with a fair few BP members in Heroics and the odd Naxx 10/25 group and really enjoyed it. I feel that people in BP are informed and proficient at their respective classes but are also down to earth and friendly people; I’ve found that raiding isn’t quite as enjoyable without a friendly but dedicated guild.

Have you played with anyone in Bloodpack before, who might vouch for you? I have played with Rhiannon, Findecano, Risen and a fair few others that I’ve met mostly in Heroic groups and Naxx runs in recent months; up to them if they want to vouch!

What is your current guild and why are you planning to leave? Just my own bank/alts guild with a real life friend!

What previous guilds have you been in? In TBC I raided with Rebirth, Made and 2-3 random guilds on Hellfire and then Horde Empire on Nordrassil which I think have disbanded since; raided quite "hardcore" (ie 4+ nights weekly) as Enhancement on my Shaman.

If this is a cross-realm application, should you be accepted for trial, how soon can you transfer here?
N/a

Do you currently have any pending application with any other guild? If yes, who with? Nope. None!

Do you have any high level alt characters? Have you raided with them before? Yes. I have an 80 Blood Elf Paladin and I’m planning to level my Hunter and a few others up in the next few months (just finished school until September).

What interests and hobbies do you have outside of the game? I enjoy reading (mostly Stephen King!), driving, going out with friends, occasionally paintballing (against my will, can’t say I enjoyed it)

Raiding

What is your past raiding experience in the game to date? Please only include content that you cleared at the appropriate level cap - we're not interested if you cleared AQ 40 last week.

Classic:
Molten Core - Did up to Majordomo on my Rogue.
Onyxia - Never did her at 60!
Blackwing Lair - As above.
Ahn'Qiraj - Downed Kurinaxx in AQ20 on my Rogue lol |:
Zul’gurub - First few bosses on my Rogue, nothing major!

The Burning Crusade:

Karazhan, Zul'Aman, Gruul's Lair & Magtheridon - All cleared.
Serpentshrine Cavern & The Eye - Yup full clear before t6 was released.
Mount Hyjal, Black Temple & Sunwell - Yup, full clears of MTH and BT, was in for a fair few server firsts in those too. Sunwell, I did Kalecgos and Brutallus with Horde Empire.

Wrath of the Lich King:
Normal Raids - I’ve done all 10 mans bar Ulduar 10 in which I’ve only done the Siege! QQ
Heroic Raids - All bar Ulduar 25, again!

Lack of solid raid experience due to my not raiding in recent months; just done the Irish equivalent of A-Levels (best comparison I can make for most people) so I practically quit playing regularly for the last while!

Are you available to make our raid times? If there is night a where you can attend some times a month, but not always, please state so.

Thursday = 19:30-22:30
Friday = 19:30-23:30
Sunday = 19:30-22:30
Monday = 19:30-22:30
Tuesday = 19:30-22:30

^As for the raid times; I can’t specify which nights I can or can’t make but can pledge that I can make 4-5 nights in a week.

Do you use these following addons?
Deadly Boss Mods / Bigwigs - Yes, I prefer DBM
Omen - Yeah I have it disabled at the moment but always have it here
DoTimer or some other sort of spelltimers - Yeah I was using Ellipsis for a while there to track Riptide and need to set it up again as I’m opting for the RT glyph again
Grid - Yes, my baby, couldn’t heal without it (not easily anyway)

Any other addons which you feel should be mentioned?
I use Clique in combination with Grid to cut out excessive time spent targeting then hitting a hotkey; I have all of my heals, Earth Shield and my rez bound to my mouse for Grid frames

If possible, please try to provide a screenshot of your UI in a raiding setting. If you aren't able to get one from inside a raid, a screenshot of it from a battleground will suffice.

Haven’t got any to hand, will throw one up early tomorrow - when it isn’t 2am!

With blizzard adding optional "hard-modes" to future encounters, we're intending to beat the more difficult version of each fight, not just the basic version. Are you prepared to spend the time re-learning encounters to beat them in their hardest incarnations?

Yup of course.

Are you prepared to sit out if an encounter requires a certain raid composition for which you are not ideal?

Yup!

How do you fill your playing time when not raiding?

I AoE farm on my Paladin, fish, cook, try my hand at the AH, and I’m _always_ up for Heroics and groups for other fun stuff.

Raiding's not cheap. Flasks, potions, buff food, and of course repairs all cost money and time, and so does keeping your gear gemmed and chanted properly. Are you able to support your raiding expenses? What consumables do you typically use?

Yes definitely, I enjoy farming on my Paladin and I make a fair bit of gold from cash drops alone every day; I can make buff food for myself (450 cooking), I farm Mana and HP pots while AoE farming (you wouldn’t believe how many drop in an hour/two hours) and I’m up for farming anything else that’s required for raids ie flasks.

Why have you chosen your particular spec/class? How familiar are you with your class' other specs? Would you be willing to respec if the raid required it? Do you have dual-spec?

Well I re-rolled from my Rogue to my Shaman when TBC arrived, then from my Shaman to my Death Knight when WOTLK came, and I returned to my Shaman purely because it’s the class I enjoy the most! Healing is really enjoyable with the new mechanics and cool stuff like Riptide. I would class myself as very familiar with my Shaman as I've played it so much and have consistently read up on the class and any developments and changes affecting it in each of its roles. I would respec if the raid required it and I do have dual spec however I lack gear for either of my other two potential specialisations.

Do you use external resources (such as 3rd party forums, spreadsheets, simulations) to research your class and spec? Give examples if so.

Yeah I use elitist jerks’ site for their Theorycrafting Think-Tank which is generally quite well informed and gives me ideas to improve my own character; I read other bits and pieces for news and any other forums or resources I stumble on are favorited

What professions have you chosen on your raiding character? How do they benefit you in raids?
I’m Skinning and Leatherworking at the moment; I’m tempted to swap profs on my Shaman but I’m not THAT eager as most profs are being drawn into line. However if the guild feels it would be more useful for me to prof otherwise I’d do it.

Any additional things you'd like to add?
I'm Matt, I live in Sligo on the west coast of Ireland! I'm hoping to join as I really want to raid regularly again after finally finishing with school and Bloodpack appears to have a lot of really friendly and exceptional players. I've felt very much out of the loop when it comes to raiding and I really want to get back into the swing of things and get back to maximising my character's potential and progressing steadily with a good guild. I'm a very active player and I rarely idle and enjoy helping people. I look forward to a reply, any questions just post 'em here or ask me ingame!

I think my infatuation with the sound of my own voice/look of my own spiel on paper adds to the effect but yes thanks very much for the support haha

Ok Lex,
On a short note we're not looking to recruit resto shamans at present time.
Thank you for taking the time and effort on writing a good application and goodluck elsewhere,
