What framerate do you generally play at in 25 man raids? Is your PC and internet connection reliable? What's your average latency to the game servers during evenings? During a boss encounter my framerate is around 20 steadily, if not more. However saying this, in the Trial of the crusader 25man heroic, it drops considerably lower and i have have consistent disconnections during the Northrend beasts encounter. My internet connect is stable, with around -100 ms at all times.

Why are you applying to Bloodpack?
As far as i've heard, researched an seen, Bloodpack is a very good raiding guild. I wish to partake in the numerous challenging encounters with Bloodpack, and have fun along the way.

Have you played with anyone in Bloodpack before, who might vouch for you?
Styláh or Stylezyó as he's now called perhaps could vouch for me. There may be others but i am not sure at the moment.

What is your current guild and why are you planning to leave? I'm currently in Dark Secrets. I'm not planning to leave unless you accept me obviously.

What previous guilds have you been in?
I began back in early April in a guild called "Knights of round table", my first raiding guild where we progressed through naxxramas. A few weeks into this, unfortunately the guild leader has some drinking problems and had to leave, which resulted in a disbanding. Consequently, i was accepted by "Cryptic", I was in Cryptic for a good 2 months or maybe more, Where i took most of my Ulduar experience. At the beginning of September, Almost skilled accepted me to join their ranks, I spent 3 weeks with almost skilled, Again, learning all the encounters in ToC, and Some of the harder fights in ulduar. Once again though, the guild leader left, along with many officers, to play the new chinese or whatever it is game called Aion. So i applied to Dark secrets and here i am now.

If this is a cross-realm application, should you be accepted for trial, how soon can you transfer here? Not a cross-realm application.


Do you currently have any pending application with any other guild? If yes, who with? No.


Do you have any high level alt characters? Have you raided with them before? I have no other level 80s, I have a 21 warlock but i made that about 3 days ago

What interests and hobbies do you have outside of the game? Outside of WoW I mainly spend time with my mates, doing the usual teenage things. I have at a part time job at a restaurant, which basically funds WoW and all of my other technology. I love collecting the latest gadgets and gizmos.

With blizzard adding optional "hard-modes" to future encounters, we're intending to beat the more difficult version of each fight, not just the basic version. Are you prepared to spend the time re-learning encounters to beat them in their hardest incarnations?

Definitely.

Are you prepared to sit out if an encounter requires a certain raid composition for which you are not ideal? That's fine with me.

How do you fill your playing time when not raiding? I love to PvP, Arena, Leveling my warlock at the moment and dailies if needed.

Raiding's not cheap. Flasks, potions, buff food, and of course repairs all cost money and time, and so does keeping your gear gemmed and chanted properly. Are you able to support your raiding expenses? What consumables do you typically use?

Yes i am able to cover all of the raiding expenses. I use flask of the frost wyrms, If no fish feast is around i'll eat my own Firecracker salmon. I also always have a few Runic Mana potions on me just incase.

Why have you chosen your particular spec/class? How familiar are you with your class' other specs? Would you be willing to respec if the raid required it? Do you have dual-spec?

The current holy build i am using is 54/17.
The reason i have chose the protection side is mainly because of the 2 talents "Divine Sacrifice" and "Divine Guardian". Combined with my 4set bonus, an extra 30 seconds added to my sacred shield is particularly handy. Divine sacrifice is also extremely useful in certain raid encounter with big AoE. Bubble + Divine sacrifice could prevent deaths and even wipe.

What is the general gearing strategy you follow for your class? Please be as specific as possible.

My gearing strategy may perhaps be different to some holy paladins. I am using the "Insightful Earthsiege diamond" As my meta gem, this has a few advantages, first the intellect and the chance to restore mana on spell cast, but secondly because it requires one of each colour gem. This means all i have to do is place one "Nightmares Tear" Anyone in my gear, and the meta gem is covered. My gemming strategy, to be completely honest, is just to stack intellect. This approach mainly came from one of my guild masters. At that time i had the Obvious mixed gems, and he said to me when i went OOM in one fight, "How can you heal without any mana?". I think from that point onwards intellect has been my primary attribute to boost, Followed by spell power.
My Main pieces of gear were a little rushed due to the set bonus, I bought 3 pieces of t9 straight away without considering the wait for a Trophy of the crusade. This means that i am not obtaining the full potential out of the Tier 9 pieces, But i am willing to fix this if needs be. The enchants Are i'm guessing the same as everybody else,+63 Spellpower on weapon with +25 Intellect on shield. +16 Intellect on bracers. +10 Stats on chest, with the Hodir Shoulder enchant. Kirin tor helmet enchant. Icewalker on boots, Sapphire spellthread on legs and +28 Spellpower on my hands. I chose these enchant again following the gearing strategy, Intellect came first with spellpower, and a mix of spellpower and Crit instead of Mp5.

Please give a brief description of how you go about doing your job in a raid. What's your DPS cycle/priority system if you're a DPS? What spells do you use in what situations as a healer? How do you go about maximising threat whilst minimising incoming damage, as a tank? What more is there to tanking than those two aspects? Use a particular boss fight as an example if it will make it easier to talk about.

As a healer i begin every Fight with Beaconing another tank who is not my assignment, then placing a Sacred Shield On my assignment. Just before the encounter begins, I will use Divine Favor + Flash of light, Now the tank has around a 12k HoT over 12 seconds, which makes the initial pull a little easier. Now the fight has begun i will be almost chain casting flash of light on my assignment whilst he is at full health, also keeping the HoT Topped up, if the tank is taking a considerable amount of damage increase, I will begin to use holy light, if the tank is taking too much damage for too long, I will use Spells such as Hand of Sacrifice, and Divine illumination to make the ease the period on myself. At points in a fight such as the enrage on Icehowl (If member messed up). I will use my trinkets and avenging wrath, this boosts my heals up alot and will almost ensure keeping the tank alive.

Do you use external resources (such as 3rd party forums, spreadsheets, simulations) to research your class and spec? Give examples, links, and commentary if so.

The only thing i've used remotely similar is a program called RawR!
All it does is takes your character from the armory and show gear upgrades and where to get them from.

What professions have you chosen on your raiding character? How do they benefit you in raids?

For professions i have chosen Alchemy and Jewelcrafting, a weird combination i know. The Jewelcrafting I chose for the for the 3 Jewelcrafting gems which boost my mana, or strength in my offspec. I then chose Alchemy as the Mixology effect giving my flasks is extremely financially efficient, saving hundreds on flasks, which i also can make myself. Along with that, i can also produce my own epic gems via transmution, which i am a master of.

Please provide a recent combat log parse (e.g. WWS, WMO, WoL) of your character in a raid environment if you have access to one.

He's a cool guy, good healer from my experience in both aspects of the game. Not so sure about him and Ret in PvE but meh. Not sure on holy pallys slots, full as far as I know but I remember Rhi saying he wants to expand it a little bit on slots *shrug*.

Hi Olly, as the main Holy Paladin healer of the guild I'd like to offer my insights:

Your stacking Intellect which is pretty much what the majority of Holy Paladins do anyway, although there are a few that stack purely Spellpower. The reason for stacking Intellect is to allow you to pretty much chain cast Holy Light and for the greater mana regen due to the way Replenishment, Arcane Torrent and Seal of Wisdom work. However, you state that you chain cast Flash of Light during fights, this is not really acceptable for the type of fights you would be doing if you joined us. If you want to chain cast Flash of Light and for it to be successful you would need to completely regem for Spellpower to boost Flash of Light considerably.

Some of your enchants could do with being changed to:

Bracers - Spellpower is actually a better enchant than Intellect
Shoulders - Since the buff to MP5 and the nerfing of Illumination, the MP5 shoulder chant is better
Helmet - Same reason as the Shoulders
Boots - Again since the Illumination nerf Crit isn't that big of a need, Tuskarr's Vitality is now a much better enchant due to the amount of time you would be moving in raids

Tier 9 4 piece - Tier 9 4 piece only comes into it's own when your stacking Spellpower rather than Intellect, as the FoL HoT of an Int stacking Holy Paladin is pretty weak. Most Int stacking Holy Paladins will tend to just get 3 parts of the T9 and then finish off the rest with the off set pieces.

Kareha, I would be willing to change all of my gear, gems, enchants etc.. if i was joining BP, but since Rhiannon stated there is no spots, im afraid i will not change my gear for my guild at the moment unless they ask. Also i will not change my gear now because if this is what you want for the guild, which i'm not joining, and probably will never, there is no point.

sorry for highjacking this topic but with that attitude your shooting yourself in the foot rly ollyy....

the post made here by kareha is to give you a more and better view on how to play the paladin and what is needed to get the maximum out of it.
if you say you cba to do so in your current guild it will also not give you a better look into how a proper paladin is played and thus lowering your chances greatly to onto getting in a guild that is a step higher then your current one.

showing good gems, chants, gear etc is a big sign off how dedicated someone is. most guilds wont even consider an apply from someone with wrong stuff in it.
