Personal
Name(optional): Chris
Age: 22

In-game name:
Christovftw

Are you the original owner of the account/character you're applying with? Yep

What framerate do you generally play at in 25 man raids? Is your PC and internet connection reliable? What's your average latency to the game servers during evenings? Generally ~30-40 in a 25 man, 40+ in 10 mans. PC is more than reliable, very rarely have crashes, my internet connection is rock solid. The only time I get a DC is if the wow servers decide to spazz out. My latency is somewhere around the 50-200 mark depending on server load

Why are you applying to Bloodpack?
Well Cold Logic has just disbanded and I wasn't chosen to be taken to the new merger with the officers from CL and renaissance, apparently I was on the shortlist but they only wanted two hunters which leaves me with slim pickins compared to the two officers from the guilds that are hunters Razz I also know your progression is top notch, raiding attitude is as it should be and you are a very nice bunch of people!

Have you played with anyone in Bloodpack before, who might vouch for you? Well I was in the guild briefly as a social back in TBC pre-lich king, I've also played with some of you who might be from DoT Com... echo is a good friend of mine and I'm sure he'll vouch for me! Very Happy Maybe sanakthe too Wink

What is your current guild and why are you planning to leave? Well it's disbanding which is a real shame, but hey ho gotta move on!

What previous guilds have you been in? My raiding career started really in DoT Com in TBC, was there for the majority of the content and eventually the guild disbanded. I then tried to start some new guilds with other officers and friends of dot com but they failed due to a lack of interest and sign ups, it was close to the wotlk release and people didn't really seem to care. I then joined Bloodpack pre-wotlk and shortly after joined Cold Logic; I had to leave close to xmas due to exams and stuff but came back midway through the year and have been there since Ulduar right up until now.

If this is a cross-realm application, should you be accepted for trial, how soon can you transfer here? N/A

Do you currently have any pending application with any other guild? If yes, who with? No, I don't like to do that.. I'd prefer to get an answer before either celebrating or moving on to the next application!

Do you have any high level alt characters? Have you raided with them before?
Yes, I have Hoofy (resto druid) and Flufferkins (tank DK). Both of them have raided ToC, Hoofy has raided ICC... and both have done bits and bobs outside those, but ToC is as high as it went

What interests and hobbies do you have outside of the game? Well I'm a huge nerd, I play other video games, I study Audio and Recording Technology at DMU in Leicester of the UK, I do a bit of video editing as a hobby and some web design.

Raiding

What is your past raiding experience in the game to date? Please only include content that you cleared at the appropriate level cap - we're not interested if you cleared AQ 40 last week.

Classic:
Molten Core - Up to Garr at 60 (not very impressive but I did it!)
Onyxia - Never Saw as a 60
Blackwing Lair - Never Saw as a 60
Ahn'Qiraj - Never Saw as a 60

The Burning Crusade:
Karazhan, Zul'Aman, Gruul's Lair & Magtheridon - Cleared
Serpentshrine Cavern & The Eye - Cleared
Mount Hyjal, Black Temple & Sunwell - Cleared except for Kil'Jaeden, the guild did it but I never got to do the fight

Wrath of the Lich King (excluding commonly pugged content):

Naxxramas 25 - Cleared
Malygos 25 - Cleared
Ulduar 10 - Funnily enough I've never had the opportunity to clear this lol
Ulduar 25 - Cleared
ToC 10 normal - Cleared
ToGC 10 heroic - Cleared
ToC 25 normal - Cleared
ToGC 25 heroic - Cleared except for Anub Sad

Please list any achievements from a raid environment that you have and feel we should know about. Got some of the Ulduar 25 hardmode stuff, some of the toc acheivements.. and a few of the ICC acheivements.

Are you available to make our raid times? If there is a night when you can attend some times a month, but not always, please state so.
Thursday = 19:30-22:30 [Y]
Friday = 19:30-23:30 [Y]
Sunday = 19:30-22:30 [Y]
Monday = 19:30-22:30 [Y]
Tuesday = 19:30-22:30 [Y]

Do you use these following addons?
Deadly Boss Mods / Bigwigs - Yes
Omen - Yes
DoTimer or some other sort of spelltimers - Yes
Grid - I have it, but don't generally use it on Christov, this can be changed if required tho
Any other addons which you feel should be mentioned?Karthas Hunter Timers, X-perl, PowerAuras, Cooldowntimers2, Bartender, Tidyplates, Tinytip ElkBuffBars for raiding particularly, there's probably some I'm forgetting...

If possible, please try to provide a screenshot of your UI in a raiding setting. If you aren't able to get one from inside a raid, a screenshot of it from a battleground will suffice. Never thought to take a screenshot while raiding but heres one from a BG, doesn't look that different except for DBM warnings would be where normal raid warnings would go. Also sorry for the two green and red warnings, thats powerauras telling me that theres no hunters mark or serpent sting on my target while im in a raid; unfortunately I was killing stuff too quick to actually get a mark and sting on them then take a screenshot so... I gave up Razz

With blizzard adding optional "hard-modes" to future encounters, we're intending to beat the more difficult version of each fight, not just the basic version. Are you prepared to spend the time re-learning encounters to beat them in their hardest incarnations?
What I live for... take that shit down.

Are you prepared to sit out if an encounter requires a certain raid composition for which you are not ideal? No probs

How do you fill your playing time when not raiding? Err... do my daily randoms, weekly raids every week... maybe do some pvp on my druid or try and play an alt or something? I usually find something to do Very Happy All the alts that matter I've got to 80 and geared to a decent point so I spend my time mostly just messin around on them.

Raiding's not cheap. Flasks, potions, buff food, and of course repairs all cost money and time, and so does keeping your gear gemmed and chanted properly. Are you able to support your raiding expenses? What consumables do you typically use? Well Flask of endless rages for start, stack of 20 for each raid, iceblade arrows (always carry some eternal shadows with me and I can make them so... bonus!), Agi Buff food, Pet Str buff food, crit rating pots (at least two stacks), random engineering stuff like portals and things, some PvP gear if stam or something is needed, bandages (at least one stack), some engineering bits if I need to make something, spare gems (raw usually; pray theres a JCer in the raid Razz), Jeeves, MOLL-E, Extra trinkets just in case I fancy some extra crit rather than AP... Probably some other things too but thats the main stuff I take.

Why have you chosen your particular spec/class? How familiar are you with your class' other specs? Would you be willing to respec if the raid required it? Do you have dual-spec? Yep got dual spec, it's BM atm but thats because I was soloing some stuff for the Love Fool title; normally its MM specced into AOE should the raid require it. I'm more than happy to respec if you need me to tho. I know my class very well, I do a lot of theorycrafting and some epic conversations with my cold logics hunters about it all; nobody ever seemed to care as much as I did lol but nvm. I've played hunter since the first day I picked up wow (originally because I thought... hunter... pet... pokemon? OSNAP.) and have got to know it pretty much inside out over the years. My alts specs I'm fairly familiar with but not nearly to the extent I know the hunter class, I can easily tell what is going to be useful and what isn't for my druid and DK but for a hunter I could really go into depth about it.

What is the general gearing strategy you follow for your class? Please be as specific as possible.
As SV spec it's stack Agi Agi and Agi, the crit bonus is absolutely fantastic and by approximations with BiS gear I wouldn't be far off the crit cap so that's a bonus for sure, also get AP from agi and thats just fine and dandysince nearly all my shots or abilities scale nicely with AP.
As MM spec I've been toying with the ArP epic bonus technique as when hunters get to 1400 ArP through trinkets or procs or whatever they can produce some absolutely insane DPS figures. I've held off going MM for now because my ArP is a bit low, but I've slowly been collecting ArP gear and doing tests and when I think its a viable choice I will certainly switch. Right now the figures between MM and SV spec for myself are roughly the same so I've left it as it is since I know the SV rotation and tree slightly better; and rather than have a lowered dps for a little bit while I l2p MM I've kept SV until I have to switch. Also the replenishment for the raid is very nice Wink

Please give a brief description of how you go about doing your job in a raid. What's your DPS cycle/priority system if you're a DPS? What spells do you use in what situations as a healer? How do you go about maximising threat whilst minimising incoming damage, as a tank? What more is there to tanking than those two aspects? Use a particular boss fight as an example if it will make it easier to talk about.Well all the boss fights are pretty similar for a hunter, dependant on what is happening obviously I'll change it but generic priorities: Hunter's Mark > Black Arrow > Serpent Sting > Kill Shot > Explosive Shot > Aimed Shot > Steady Shot. Steady shot is only really a filler and doesn't get used much. All through this I'm popping Cooldowns when appropriate; if the fight allows it I pop them as they come up so I can maximise DPS.
For something a bit more interesting for example saurfang in ICC, about 8 seconds or so before blood beasts are called I drop a frost trap right underneath saurfang to slow em down, then to DPS em I distracting shot them and concussive shot them when they leave the frost trap; usually theyre down before they get to me.
Another example, on Valithria (is that how you spell it?) I kite the Blistering zombies away from the raid and usually kill them myself or with very little help.
Rest of the fights are dependant on tactics but there's some examples of different stuff I do as a hunter.

Do you use external resources (such as 3rd party forums, spreadsheets, simulations) to research your class and spec? Give examples, links, and commentary if so. I use the EJ spreadsheet available at their website www.elitistjerks.com and I also an avid reader on their hunter forums, I also read mmo-champion (www.mmo-champion.com) and view a few other minor sources, never for too long because theyre behind the times from EJ lol. I use wowhead a lot but thats not really to do with my spec and more to look wow stuff up in general

How do the professions you've chosen benefit you in raids?
Leatherworking means cheap and slightly better enchants for my wrist and legs, engineering allows me to craft iceblade arrows and also gives me better enchants on my cloak/feet than is widely available.

Please provide a recent combat log parse (e.g. WWS, WMO, WoL) of your character in a raid environment if you have access to one.
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/98qzsc8oaea2vcxh/details/18/
I hope thats the right link, don't often use WoL. From sundays 25 man raid.

Any additional things you'd like to add?
Just wanted to say that I know you're full on hunters but I thought I'd stick an app up anyway, considering my gear level and relevant raiding experience I had a hope that maybe you'd consider me. Hope that maybe turns into a hells yes if I get in Smile

Cheers,
Christov

Huge vouch from me, he's an awesome player, knows what he's doing and stays out of fires. Will be a massive asset to our current raid roster \o/

Thanks for the application, at the moment we don't have room for any more dps I'm afraid.
