Personal

Name: Anders
Age: 15 (My age does not make me unreliable, please trust me on that.)

In-game name: Sezuka
Class and spec: Paladin - Retribution
Armory link: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Boulderfist&cn=Sezuka

Are you the original owner of the account/character you're applying with?
Yes. But there is a story I need to tell you, that involves this subject.

My first WoW account, was one my brother gave me when he got me to start playing, so I wouldn't have to buy the game etc. It turns out this was not his original account either. One night, just before a raid, I got DCed, and when I tried to log on to my account, it was gone. A call to Blizzard let me know that the account had been taken back by the original owner. To let you know when, I lost my account just before 2nd wing of ICC was released, and I dinged 80 again in late February/early March.

I can tell you my Paladin was leveled from 1-70 and then 80 completely on my own.

This is why I lack many achievements and kills I will tell you I've done. I will have someone who knows me and knows I did all this, confirm it in a reply. I hope you understand.

What framerate do you generally play at in 25 man raids? Is your PC and internet connection reliable? What's your average latency to the game servers during evenings? My average framerate in 25 man raids would be 30-40fps. Going to be OCing and getting more ram and a new GPU soon, so it will go up a fair bit in not long. I do not know my latency to your realm, to my current one it's 30-50ms but this realm is hosted in Sweden, my neighbour country, so my ms is quite low here. I would assume not higher than 150, depending on what battlegroup you're on.

My connection is reliable, but I've been having some trouble with my Realtek integrated network adapter. Generally it's no problem, but twice it's been DCing me every 2-3 minutes for a few days. Upon acceptance to a new guild, I am probably going to by a new NIC to get rid of this problem forever.

Why are you applying to Bloodpack?
I need a serious raiding guild, with raid times that do not go over 23.00 (Some problems with school and such lately, so I cannot raid longer than 23.00.). I found you as one of the few serious guilds that do not raid to 24.00 or more.

Have you played with anyone in Bloodpack before, who might vouch for you?
That I have not.

What is your current guild and why are you planning to leave?
I am currently in Placebo, as a social member. I was also a raiding member and lead player (A lead player is kind of a class leader, just one that functions for more players than of his own class. This was still a pretty new position in Placebo, so I mainly looked at applications and gave my oppinion, and looked at melee in raids to make sure no one were messing up too bad) of Placebo up untill a few weeks ago, when my raiding hours were limited to 23.00 and Placebo raids till 24.00. I was in a different guild for the same reasons for a short while, but left them to go back to Placebo to try to work out the raid times, since I felt bad leaving all my friends in Placebo behind, but this isn't going so well right now, as such I am once again on the look for a new guild.

What previous guilds have you been in?
I started out on Grim Batol, in BC. At this point, I was mainly in guilds of friends, and even started my own guild, Set Sail to Fail. The name was very effective, and we ended at 3 members, all IRL friends, that would soon leave. It was not untill I got in to the Wrath of the Lich King beta that I got into raiding. Doing some of the raids we could enter there, I realized I had to find a raiding guild once I dinged 80 on live realms. Grim Batol Horde was not the best start-point though, and I went through a few guilds here, mainly failure guilds that either disbanded or I left because the members were idiots. It all really started when I was accepted to Voltage, on Dragonblight.

This was my first somewhat serious guild. Being a casual guild, it was obviously nothing special, but it was still more serious than anything I had previously experienced. Sadly, at the time I joined Voltage, it was already a sinking ship. Our 25 man raids rarely had more than 20 players, and rarely went very well. Our 10 mans were decent, and we got some progress in Ulduar before disbanding. With them I did 11/14 in Ulduar 10. When Voltage disbanded, I joined my first ever hardcore raiding guild, and probably the guild that got me to where I am today.

Blood and Tears, on the realm Ghostlands. This guild was more than any guild I had ever been in. The first raids with them, I was nervous as shit. We were progressing on Ulduar hardmodes. Probably a week after I joined them, we got the horde first on Iron Council hard, and this must have been one of my greatest moments of raiding ever. As an added bonus, we went straight to Thorim hard and oneshotted him with the achievement of no one getting hit by the lighting beam thing. This was also a horde first. I am glad we ended it after that, cause my hands were shaking so bad I wouldn't play very well after that. We started having some bad times though, a few core players leaving brought us down a bit, and we ended up overrecruiting to make up for the losses. Things started going worse and worse, and while I wasn't there for most of the time between early ICC untill around late February when I started playing actively, it ended with Blood and Tears officially ceasing raiding at 24th of February (I remember the date cause it's my birthday too. :<). It was luckily ended in good terms, and I still keep contact and even play with many of them. The guild I am in now, was formed by a few BaT membes, and houses many BaT members.

Placebo, my current guild, is a guild started when BaT ceased raiding. With ambitions to be a high-end guild, we've currently worked hard on getting a strong, competent and competitive core to challenge the top of our realm, Boulderfist. We now have quite a nice core, with a lot of potential. With some work, I believe Placebo can become a strong guild. I would love to stay there to help them on the way, but sadly this is not possible.

As I said earlier, I was also in another guild for a very short while when I first knew I could not keep on raiding with Placebo. This guild was Kyl, on the realm Nordrassil. I stayed there for probably a week or so, but I came to the conclusion that I just did not fit in with the people in that guild. I thought that staying in a guild where I did not feel at home and barely even feel welcome, probably ends in a failed trial or a very miserable stay till I would inevitably leave anyways.

If this is a cross-realm application, should you be accepted for trial, how soon can you transfer here?
A day after my acceptance, at most. After that it's all up to Blizzard. :/

Do you currently have any pending application with any other guild? If yes, who with?
No. I applied to one guild just before this, but they declined me because of my age.

Do you have any high level alt characters? Have you raided with them before?
My DK will soon be 80, but I most likely won't transfer it.

What interests and hobbies do you have outside of the game?
I play my guitar, I enjoy good TV shows, music and movies, and I also play other games from time to time, although I currently don't play many other games. I also like fiddling with hardware, and have been trying to learn some html and such.

I had Glory of the Ulduar Raider 25 man and I have Glory of the Icecrown Raider 10 man.

Are you available to make our raid times? If there is a night when you can attend some times a month, but not always, please state so.
Thursday = 19:30-22:30 Yes.
Friday = 19:30-23:30 Yes. I am not limited in weekends, and could even stay longer if needed on this day.
Sunday = 19:30-22:30 Yes.
Monday = 19:30-22:30 Yes.
Tuesday = 19:30-22:30 Yes.

Do you use these following addons?
Deadly Boss Mods / Bigwigs / DXE - I use DBM.
Omen - Yes.
DoTimer or some other sort of spelltimers - No, these kind of addons are not really useful for me.
Grid - Yes.
Any other addons which you feel should be mentioned? Well, the UI I am going to be finishing up tomorrow will be based of the package LUIv3.

If possible, please try to provide a screenshot of your UI in a raiding setting. If you aren't able to get one from inside a raid, a screenshot of it from a battleground will suffice. I will provide you with a screenshot from a BG tomorrow when I am completely done with it. My current UI is a bit too messy and a bit lacking, so I am gonna set up the new one to fill my needs completely and be less messy.

With blizzard adding optional "hard-modes" to future encounters, we're intending to beat the more difficult version of each fight, not just the basic version. Are you prepared to spend the time re-learning encounters to beat them in their hardest incarnations?
Yes, I raid for the hardmodes and hard encounters, if I was in a guild that only cleared normal modes I would be bored very fast.

Are you prepared to sit out if an encounter requires a certain raid composition for which you are not ideal?
Anything for the guild's progress and success.

How do you fill your playing time when not raiding?
I usually hang around talking to people and afking while alt+tabbed out. Outside of raids I like to look at myself as a social player, that helps keep the chatter going. I may also participate in activities members of the guild are starting, such as premade groups in BG's and raids and such. I don't play alts a lot, but lately I have been leveling my DK a fair bit.

Raiding's not cheap. Flasks, potions, buff food, and of course repairs all cost money and time, and so does keeping your gear gemmed and chanted properly. Are you able to support your raiding expenses? What consumables do you typically use?
I never slack on buffs needed for raiding, and to give you an example on my expenses for gearing, I've on several occasions spent hundreds of gold to regem and re-enchant my gear, only to find out it gave me about a 1 dps increase. In my defense, rawr did tell me it was an over 100 dps increase at first each time! An increase is an increase though, I guess. Very Happy

Why have you chosen your particular spec/class? How familiar are you with your class' other specs? Would you be willing to respec if the raid required it? Do you have dual-spec?
I have chosen my spec mainly because I found the major changes in WotLK exciting, and it made me want to try it out and after this I've stayed ret and loving it. Very Happy

I was playing as Holy in BC, but I am not very familiar with PvE healing, I've also been tanking a bit in WotLK, but not so experienced as a tank either. My tank gear is now decent, but a bit undergeared for ICC. I still don't have a full Holy set, but I am working on that.

I have dual-spec, my current offspec is Protection.

What is the general gearing strategy you follow for your class? Please be as specific as possible.
I try to stay hit-capped at all times, but not going too far over, and in a perfect world I would be at 263 hit and 17 expertise, but this is not always so easy to stay at. While hit is my highest priority, I also really enjoy strength. Strength is me second most valued stat, even over being expertise capped, while I don't want to go too low on expertise though. Crit is also a stat I like, and when my items have got a yellow socket, I put in a 10str10crit gem if I can get 4+str per yellow socket in the item. If there was one yellow strength and the bonus was 4strength, I would put 10str10crit in, but if there are two yellow sockets and the bonus is 6strength, I would go all 20 strength.

I don't gear so much for leather, but because of the itemization on some items, some leather items are quite good for me, and some agi/leather items are even BiS.

Please give a brief description of how you go about doing your job in a raid.
I try to maximize my dps and uptime on bosses/nuke targets, while always being ready to move when needed. Timing cooldowns such as AW and haste pot is of great importance, and on some bosses, to keep a decent dps, I also try to keep an eye on my stacks from Seal of Vengeance. (Putricide in specific here.)

On nuke phases/bosses where movement/target switching is not needed, I use my keyboard, Logitech G19, to do a macro that will do my FCFS priority perfectly and maximize dps. This will mainly do Divine Storm resets a lot faster than I could, which is a huge increase most of the time.

My priority list is Judgement (I usually judge Wisdom but can use Light if needed, it depends on setup and what is most needed) -> Divine Storm -> Crusader Strike -> Hammer of Wrath below 20% -> Consecration -> Exorcism -> Holy Wrath on undead mobs.

On AoE, I put Divine Storm, Consecration and Holy Wrath higher up, and also use Seal of Command.

Prioritizing Divine Storm first would be a dps increase, but our mana would go down way too fast and we would end up unable to dps at all a lot of the time because of no mana.

I always try to keep an eye out for when defensive abilities are needed, if there is no set moment to use it. This is not always so easy though, with many things going on at once.

Do you use external resources to research your class and spec?
Yes, I use elitistjerks.com and Rawr.

How do the professions you've chosen benefit you in raids?
My professions both give me the best benefit in stats out of any other professions. I also like them for their versatility. I can get the best stats for my offspec too, and if some other stat was suddenly better to gem than strength I could go straight to getting the most out of that stat. It's just really nice to be able to choose between so many different stats, and also get some of the best bonuses.

Please provide a recent combat log parse of your character in a raid environment if you have access to one.
http://worldoflogs.com/guilds/49287/ - Should be some not so old logs where I am involved there.

Any additional things you'd like to add?
For now, there is nothing else I would like to add. If I should remember something I've forgotten, I will let you know. Hope you like my application.

Very nice application mate. Can't fault anything gearwise, specwise or anything really. I have a feeling you could be a nice asset to the guild. Just one thing to add however. You didn't mention it in your general gearing strat, but if there is a yellow socket and a +6 agi bonus (or higher, but unlikely to be) then an inscribed is also worth putting into it to get the bonus.

I know Rhia recently dropped the ret recruitment, but good luck either way.

P.S. Gief your macro for DS for the G19 plx Sad

Very nice application indeed. However, our two current ret paladins are making it to enough raids that for now I don't think we'd have room for a third unfortunately. Best of luck finding a guild that'll suit you.

Anachronos is located in Paris

Thank you. Didn't get me far though. :<

And I figured this realm wasn't hosted in Sweden, which is why I said I probably had higher ms to this realm. Smile
