Why are you applying to Bloodpack?

My current guild is billed as a casual raid guild, however after only coming to raiding late in TBC and continuing throughout WotLK I have come to realise I am more than a casual raider.

I have only heard good things about Bloodpack, and this has been backed up by good experiences when having had the chance to group and raid with its members.

Have you played with anyone in Bloodpack before, who might vouch for you?

I've known Risen and Lighter since just after TBC release when we were levelling our first characters, I've also know Finde nearly as long.

I've grouped for heroics in TBC and WotLK with various BP members, most recently when doing various achievements for Glory to the Hero.

I also signed up for the Naxx PuG ran by Aliria a couple of weeks ago.

What is your current guild and why are you planning to leave?

I'm currently a member and officer of Pew Pew Bunnies. When I joined PPB they were a casual raiding guild and as a guild I would describe them as such throughout TBC and into WotLK, however in recent weeks (and for various reasons) PPB is now more of a social guild and are unlikely to continue raiding into Ulduar.

Being a member of PPB has allowed me to realise that I really enjoy raiding and am quite happy to do so at every opportunity - whether it's content on farm or progression. Unfortunately I no longer think that PPB as a guild can offer a raid environment and this is the reason I have decided to move on.

What previous guilds have you been in?

I was a member of various social guilds whilst levelling. After deciding I wanted to raid I joined Monstrous Regiment. When they started raiding in TBC however it turned out to be a bit of a non-starter as they had >10 active hunters.

After leaving MR I joined Pew Pew Bunnies where I started raiding for the first time. When I joined PPB had Kara on farm but I was with them when they moved into 25 man content and was part of progression raids on Gruul, Mag and initial attempts at SSC.

Moving into WotLK I've raided with PPB at every opportunity including progression through all 10 man content (with the exception of >1 drake up) and the majority of Heroic content. All with a group of people learning the fights at the same time.

If this is a cross-realm application, should you be accepted for trial, how soon can you transfer here?

Not Applicable

Do you currently have any pending application with any other guild? If yes, who with?

Not currently, however due to the reasons stated above I will be looking for new guild from this point on so I may well be applying to other guilds in the next couple of weeks.

What interests and hobbies do you have outside of the game?

Films, cinema, reading, socialising in the pub, playing poker, visiting the Casino

Raiding

What is your past raiding experience in the game to date? Please only include content that you cleared at the appropriate level cap - we're not interested if you cleared AQ 40 last week.

Classic: (None, started playing properly on release of TBC)
Molten Core: None
Onyxia: None
Blackwing Lair: None
Ahn'Qiraj: None

The Burning Crusade: (all of the below pre-3.0)
Tier 4: Cleared Kara, Gruul and Magtheridon
Tier 5: SSC - Lurker only, TK - Void Reaver only
Tier 6: None

I also cleared ZA on multiple occasions pre-3.0, but never managed a timed clear unfortunately.

Wrath of the Lich King:
Normal Raids: Naxx full clear, EoE, OS including 1D, VoA
Heroic Raids: Naxx full clear, OS including 1D, VoA

Are you available to make our raid times? If there is night a where you can attend some times a month, but not always, please state so.
Thursday = 19:30-22:30 [Y]/[N] Mostly, Thursday is Casino night once or twice a month.
Friday = 19:30-23:30 [Y]/[N] Yes
Sunday = 19:30-22:30 [Y]/[N] Yes
Tuesday = 19:30-22:30 [Y]/[N] Yes

Do you use these following addons?
Deadly Boss Mods / Bigwigs: Yes to both, I've found DBM to be the most useful.
Omen: Yes
DoTimer or some other sort of spelltimers: I use various timers - Elk Buff Bars, OmniCC, Button timers etc.

Any other addons which you feel should be mentioned?

I find that Elkano's Buff Bars can be used for many useful visual prompts to aid with rotations etc. For example I have a specific buff group to indicate when a proc such as LnL fires and the remaining duration. This sits front and centre with my current Survival spec.

With blizzard adding optional "hard-modes" to future encounters, we're intending to beat the more difficult version of each fight, not just the basic version. Are you prepared to spend the time re-learning encounters to beat them in their hardest incarnations?

Simple answer is yes, although I have not had the opportunity to attempt similar 'Glory to' achievements with PPB.

I've no issue with learning multiple strategies for boss fights, in fact I think I will relish the challenge.

How do you fill your playing time when not raiding?

Various ways, a have a couple of alts at 70-75, and a couple more at lv 60. Between them they cover most professions and I shall certainly level 1 or 2 alts to 80.

I'm also enjoying working on gaining achievement points and titles.

Raiding's not cheap. Flasks, potions, buff food, and of course repairs all cost money and time, and so does keeping your gear gemmed and chanted properly. Are you able to support your raiding expenses? What consumables do you typically use?

To support myself I have a nice reserve of gold, as well as alts with various professions to help supply consumables - I now pretty much have production of elixirs, flasks, ammo and food consumables covered on my own characters.

I don't have alts with high level JC, Inscription or Enchanting but that's what the gold reserve is for (until I can remedy the situation). On the food buff side Sythe can make all the WotLK cooking recipes.

As far as consumables go I typically use AP flasks or Agi/Int elixirs as well as Fish Feasts or Agi food buffs.

I have no issue with re-gemming or re-enchanting my gear when it's required.

Why have you chosen your particular spec/class? How familiar are you with the your class' other specs? Would you be willing to respec if the raid required it?

I changed to Survival when the recent BM nerf happened and although I'd never played Survival in TBC I'm completely happy with it now. I have never tried Marksman as the basis for a spec but wouldn't be afraid to try it.

I have no issues with re-speccing when required.

Do you use external resources (such as 3rd party forums, spreadsheets, simulations) to research your class and spec? Give examples if so.

I read various blogs and forums including EJ etc. I have also started playing with the EJ Hunter spreadsheet but must admit I have not had time to delve into its depths and work out how all the options work.

I have also been known to blow gold and 1000s of arrows comparing specs and pets against training dummies - although not strictly an answer to the question I find this is a good way to work out the DPS differences for my own play style (rather than what's mathematically possible).

Any additional things you'd like to add?

I realise you are not currently actively recruiting Hunters however I have only ever experienced good things when partying with Bloodpack members and having know a couple of your members for so long I felt I owed it to myself to at least apply.

With my current decision to look for a more focussed raid guild I would also welcome any constructive criticism regarding this application, irrespective of the outcome.

Thanks in advance,

Sythe
